| Triwat has as its purpose to conserve and promote traditional arts from the north of India, through organizing shows, classes and music, dance and singing workshops. One of the principle objectives of the members of Triwat is to create in Rajasthan traditional arts schools, with the goal of transmitting their cultural and artistic knowledge to those in India who wish to learn it, including those less fortunate who could benefit greatly from the teaching. The assocation has already created such a school in Jaipur, Gurukul, attended by students from all social classes. Since its creation, Triwat has organized a number of artistic events and activities across the world, allowing for intercultural exchanges between India and the rest of the world. In addition, each year the association organizes trips and workshops in India in order to share with as many people as possible the traditions and ancestral arts from the country (like yoga, music, and Kathak dance) under the teaching of great masters, such as Girdhari Maharaj. The Triwat Association is regulated under law 1901, and its headquarters are located in Paris. In India, it is also known under the name Shri Lakshmi Narayan Nrityashram Association, founded in 1995. |
